Home Energy 101 - Save Money, Stay Warm - Nov. 2, 2023
Presentation is over, but we have lots of important information to share.
(1) City of Dayton electric aggregation program is 100% renewable energy (using energy credits).
Combined buying power gives citizens a good rate.
(2) Get a blower door test - free - to find out your air circulation rate/hour.
See link below, under Energy Use.
(3) Dayton Energy Collaborative assists in accessing energy efficiency and weatherization programs offered
in the Miami Valley through various community agencies, including County Corp, Miami Valley Community Action Partnership, Habitat for Humanity, and Rebuilding Together Dayton.

ResourcesWhether it's growing our own food, protecting the water in our community, or sorting out recycling options, there are ways to protect our precious resources.
Check out Community Resources under the About Us page. |
Energy UseThe best way to lower energy costs and improve property values is to tighten up your home with weatherization upgrades. Beyond that, converting to solar power will save on energy bills and increase the value of your home.
Miami Valley Solar Co-op is open to residential properties. Go to www.solarunitedneighbors.org/co-ops/ohio/miami-valley-2023-solar-and-ev-charger-co-op/ Interested in a blower door test? Sign up here: https://forms.gle/oSzQwnijJWxz5Mmk8 |
Disaster PreparednessMembers of our community will want to help each other in a disaster. We want to be ready. Consider being the "good neighbor contact" for your block - the person who can identify the helpers and those who will need help. We're creating a network, the Good Neighbor Network, to match people who can help with those who need help. More info coming soon!
Join us in a book discussion of Palaces for the People by Eric Klinenberg. This book will help us shape the preparedness plan we need. Not scheduled yet. Contact Mary Sue at 937-369-8475 if interested. |
